Members Observing Night - CANCELLED

10/21/2017 5:40 PM

Due to the weather forecast calling for rain and possibly severe storms this evening, we have decided to CANCEL the club picnic and observing night tonight (Saturday). We plan to reschedule the picnic at a later date.

We are having our annual picnic at the observatory this month. To allow more people to attend, we have decided to have the picnic and Members Observing Night on Saturday this month. Note that gates will open an hour earlier than usual. (We usually open at sundown for Members Night.)

The forecast is not great for Saturday. If it is just cloudy that evening, we intend to have the picnic but obviously we won’t be able to observe. If there is rain/storms, we will cancel both the picnic and observing night and reschedule at a later date. It’s approximately a 45 minute drive from downtown Tulsa. Always be sure to check the club website or Facebook before heading out. Cancellations will be posted on our website and Facebook by 4:30 PM.

This event is for members only please.

If you are a current member, we reserve the darkest nights just for you. Our Member Observing Night is a night that you can spend time at the observatory free from visitors, noise and the additional light pollution! Perhaps you would like to earn one of the over 40 observing certificates from the Astronomical League. Check out some of their   Observing Programs.

If you are not currently a member, you can easily join. Simply go to the JOIN section on our website. Submit the forms online and mail in your membership dues.   Click here to Join our Club.
