Winter Blitz & Telescopes Night

Celebrate the New Year with Stars and Planets

Friday January 3         Time 5:00 to 8:00 PM

Come join in the New Year  Winter Blitz   fun at the Sand Springs Case Community Center 1050 W Wekiwa Rd, Sand Springs   from 6:00 to 8:00 PM indoors.

Outdoors the Astronomy Club of Tulsa will be setting up telescopes from 5:00 to 8:00 PM  Come see the craters of the Crescent Moon near the brilliant planet Venus.  As it grows darker you can see the thin rings of Saturn in the SW.   To the SE Jupiter with its moon is shining brightly in Taurus.  Later in the evening Mars will make its appearance in the NE.   

Be sure to dress warmly so you can enjoy seeing the planets along with the stars of Taurus, Gemini, and great nebula in Orion.  Telescopes viewing will be available throughout the evening events.

 Winter Blitz  will begin inside the spacious community center at 6:00 PM with lots of things to enjoy.   Door Prizes,  Bingo, Crafts, Inflatable, Obstacle Course, Indoor Snowball Fight and of course Concessions.  

         Admission is Free  and there are activities for all ages.   

While telescope viewing is subject to weather cancellation due to clouds or extreme cold.  The Winter Blitz celebration will continue in the warm and cozy indoors.
