The Astronomy Club of Tulsa will be setting up telescopes from 6:00 to 9:00 PM to let you enjoy several of the wonders of the night sky.
The waxing gibbous moon will be just 1.5 degrees for the planet Mars. Both are resting in the arms of the constellation Gemini forming a nice triangle with its stars Pollux and Castor. Just after sunset look near the western horizon for bright Venus appearing as a thin crescent. It will soon pass between the Earth and Sun to become our "morning star" in early April. Just below Venus search for the planet Mercury. Jupiter with its four Galilean moons and cloud bands will be soaring high in the SW in the horns of the constellation Taurus. Other interesting sites will include the Pleiades star cluster and the great Orion Nebula M 42.
Be sure to dress warmly so you can stay and enjoy these and other celestial wonders.
Telescope viewing is subject to weather cancellation due to clouds or extreme cold.
So please check our website https://www.astrotulsa.com/ for updates about the weather.
