Give yourself a little extra driving time due to Road Construction congestion in Glenpool
You are invited to join us on Saturday for our Guests and Members observing night at our observatory. ( See direction details below ) Weather permitting, we will have several telescopes set up for you to enjoy the stars, galaxies, and other treasures of the night sky. Some of our members will have telescope outside for viewing. You will also have an opportunity to visit the telescope in our observatory dome. When approaching a telescope ask the owner if they are willing to share the views.
Parking is available on the lot next to the large building to our east.

Come enjoy a night under the stars in our darker rural skies. Now that Spring has arrived with its promise of warmer weather we can enjoy an evening under the stars. You may like bring a jacket as our rural hilltop location in cooler than urban temperatures. We have chairs in the classroom, or you can bring your own lawn chairs. You may also like to bring a snack and something to drink. Please keep children with your group. Younger children may enjoy a quiet activity of their own. Please leave pets at home since this is a dark area with with people walking around enjoying the telescopes. Please do not use insect repellant sprays away from the telescopes.
Our Astronomy club is a volunteer non-profit organization. Our guests are encouraged to consider a donation to help us with the ongoing expenses so that we can continue to offer opportunities come enjoy the starry night sky.

NOTE: Event may be cancelled if temperatures are extremely low even if sky is clear.
The planets Jupiter and Mars are still well placed for telescope viewing. Jupiter is in the constellation of Taurus and Mars is lined up with the Gemini stars, Pollux and Castor. The Spring constellations of the Big Dipper, Leo along with Virgo make for promising viewing. Our telescopes will provide pleasing views of the star clusters, nebula and galaxies scattered behind the starry foreground.
PLEASE NOTE: If adverse weather is nearby, we may cancel or close earlier.

Our observing ground gates will open at 7:30 PM. Guests are asked to park on the lot at the large building next to our observing field. Please try to arrive before 8:30 PM and drive carefully if arriving after dark.

Small family or friends’ groups are welcome, but we cannot accommodate large groups at this time. Children MUST be supervised. Quiet activities for restless kids are beneficial.
